Dr. Jadis Blurton

Dr. Jadis Blurton M.A., Ph.D. Life-Span Developmental Psychology, M.A., Special Education, Licensed Clinical Psychologist (U.S.A.), Registered Psychologist (H.K.)

Dr. Blurton has an eclectic and personal approach to therapy, focusing on the specific needs and strengths of individuals, couples, and families. As a therapist, she sees her role as one of guide, supporter, and interpreter, assisting clients to find their own solutions to the problems and emotions that may confront them.

 

Dr. Sandra Comer

Since 1997. Dr. Comer has been treating adults as well as adolescents in Hong Kong . She works with anxiety and mood disorders, and has specific interest and expertise in eating disorders and body image concerns. Dr. Comer uses a collaborative, time-limited approach that aims to empower clients by teaching them skills that are applicable outside the therapy sessions.

Dr. Bernard Anderson has particular concerns for addressing the needs of individuals and families who are coping with addictions, and is familiar with both 12-step models and harm reduction interventions. He has a strong background in the fields of communication, education and counseling. He holds a Ph.D. in Communications with Post-Graduate Certifications in Education and Media, a Masters in Education, and a Masters in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis on mental health and addictions. During his thirty-five year career in Asia, the South Pacific, North America and Europe, he has focused on promoting interpersonal communication and the development of practical life skills among diverse populations.

Advanced studies in Jungian analysis and art therapy.

Dr. Kopstein has practiced psychotherapy and psychoanalysis in a variety of settings in the USA, New Zealand, and Australia. Patti specializes in mid-life, self-image, aging, chronic illness, psycho-spiritual, and fertility issues. As a psychotherapist, Dr. Kopstein works with clients to explore issue-specific difficulties and develop their own resolution plans. Psychoanalysis is available for those who wish to discover their own inner patterns, styles, myths, and motivation.

 

Dr. Anthony Ho

Dr. Anthony Ho D.C.P., M.Sc, M.S.W. Registered Psychologist (Aus.), Licensed social worker (U.S.A.) & Registered social worker (H.K.)

Dr. Ho received his clinical training in the doctoral program of clinical psychology at the University of Sydney. He has worked extensively with children and adults in Australia, the United States, and Hong Kong. Dr. Ho specializes in psycho-educational and psychological assessment, individual, as well as family therapy. He has maintained the cognitive-behavioral approach to individuals’ difficulties and has found that modifying maladaptive thoughts and behaviors with the latest research is an excellent guide for what works for this field. He is fluent in English and Cantonese.

 

Wendy Kou

Wendy Kou M.A., Marital and Family Therapy
(Art Therapy Specialization)

Ms. Kou, in addition to providing general counseling services, specializes in art therapy. She has worked extensively with children, adolescents and adults who suffer from a variety of disorders, among them depression, post-traumatic stress, autism, anxiety, bereavement, marital conflicts, attentional deficits, behavioral or impulse control disorders, and schizophrenia. Ms. Kou graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, and is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

 

John Shanahan

John's specific areas of interests lie in social skills programs, anger management, behaviour management as well as academic and cognitive assessments. Having gained extensive experience working down under in both government and non-government schools John developed the unique vantage that each issue a child and adolescent endures must be dealt with from an educational, psychological, emotional, and social perspective.

As a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist, Sam is proficient in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a variety of communication difficulties.

She has years of experience in providing individual and small group therapy to pre school and school aged children.

Anuradha has experience in therapy and testing; running groups for anger management and social skills for children; and working with children with multiple disabilities and autism as well as children with behaviour issues, anxiety and depression.

Sophia has worked extensively with children, adolescents and adults in tackling a wide variety of disorders and behavior. Sophia's main area of focus is child and adolescent behavioral problems and has expertise in treating depression, anxiety and adjustment disorders and in behavioral modification. Sophia has previously practiced in both the United States and Greece.

 

Esther Long

Esther's experience and interest lies in working with teenagers with emotional and behavioural difficulties, and their families. In the context of working with teenagers, Esther has not only found it useful to understand the specific issues faced by the individual, but also to gain insight into the interaction of these factors with the family and educational environment; thus treatment might involve the individuals, their families, and also liaising with schools and other treating professionals. Whilst originally trained in traditional Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, over the last few years, Esther has found the introduction of principles from other therapeutic approaches to be useful, such as Bowen Family Systems Theory, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy.

 

Mary Poon

Dr. Mary Poon was born in Hong Kong but raised in Macau, later immigrated to the U.S. for 20 plus years. She is fluent in English and Cantonese. She received her Psy.D. in psychology from The Wright Institute, in Berkeley, California. She is also a registered member of the Hong Kong Psychological Society, American Psychological Association, and Asian American Psychological Association.
